A children’s area, a fitness area, a zen garden and a dog-walking area: there is all this and much more at Green Park Michele Buscarnera in Sciacca, the park created by CIG Consulting in a municipal area in the San Marco district and dedicated to the memory of engineer Michele Buscarnera, known in the city for his professional activity and avant-garde ideas.
The park, in fact, takes its cue from one of his last projects. Prematurely deceased, his children Cristina and Giuseppe decided to make it a reality: thanks to their participation in the public call for tenders ‘Make the city more beautiful’ they managed to get the land, previously abandoned, to take care of it.
‘When my brother and I asked ourselves how we could honour the memory of our father, it was easy to think of this project. – Cristina Buscarnera explains – So we decided to make an investment to breathe new life into the neighbourhood and give the community a space to gather.
The construction of the Michele Buscarnera Green Park in Sciacca represents a regeneration project that allows citizens and generations to meet.
